Upcoming Events in February with Chef Lillian Cumic
Aloha friends,
February is a celebration of love — and it also happens to be Vegan Cuisine Month. I’ve crafted this month’s events around that theme and I’m excited to share what’s coming up.
I’ll be kicking things off on Thursday, February 13th, with a very special 7-Course “Hilton at Home” Valentine’s Day Dinner, where I’ll be creating seven dishes inspired by Hilton hotel menus from around the world. There are still seats left so book soon HERE.
On Tuesday, February 18th, I’ll be appearing on Hawaii News Now’s Sunrise from 7:40 am for another segment with host Grace Lee. I’ll be demonstrating how to turn cashews into a creamy, plant-based “cheese” sauce and a savory “parmesan” topper—because people who don’t like vegetables just haven’t met the right sauce or “crack” topping yet. Tune in!
On the same day, my latest CRAVE column in The Star-Advertiser will be published in honor of Vegan Cuisine Month.
To wrap up the month, on Sunday, February 22nd, I’ll be hosting a cooking demonstration with The Vegan Society of Hawaii at the Honolulu Central Seventh-day Adventist Church from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. This will be a fun and welcoming space to explore plant-based cooking, ask questions, and connect with community. This is a free event open to the public. Call the VSH at (808) 445-9920 to register.
JANUARY REFLECTIONS
As January came to a close, I found myself reflecting on some meaningful milestones I’m so grateful for.
One of the biggest highlights was my Barnes & Noble book signing at Ala Moana Center. It was my largest signing to date, and seeing all the books beautifully displayed and signed was a moment I’ll never forget. I’m deeply thankful to everyone who came out to support, shared kind words, and made the day so special. Read the blog here.
In my January CRAVE article, I had featured a unique plant-based catering business called Grazing Elevated, created by Eat Plants Elevate founder Anna Manakai.
Another exciting January highlight was appearing on HNN’s Sunrise with host Grace Lee, where I demonstrated how to turn tofu into eggs. You can find the recipes and full story here.
Thank you for being part of this journey—whether you attended an event, watched, read, shared, or simply cheered from afar. Your support means more than I can put into words.
And remember.
You can start eating healthier today. You don’t need a perfect routine- you just need a repeatable one.
Warmest Aloha,
Lillian Cumic
